Anti-adhesion Technology

The function of dressings

Dressing is a temporary medical material covering the wound. Its main function is to control the exudate of the wound and protect the wound, so as not to be contaminated by bacteria and dust particles, and to provide an environment conducive to healing of the wound.

Disadvantages of traditional dressings

Cell adhesion affects the use of dressings. For a long time, it has been clinically used to bind and treat the open injury caused by burn, trauma, and skin inflammatory damage caused by infection and so on, with a relatively cheap carbasus absorbens which with antiphlogistic or disinfectant drugs. However, in fact, using such dressings, the gauze will absorb the exudates and secretions of the wound and dry up in a short time, so that the gauze is bonded to the new epithelial tissue formed during the healing process of the granulation or wound. This not only oppresses the wound, affects the tissue growth, but also may tear the wound when change dressings, causing two damage to the epithelial cells and the proliferating fibroblasts, and bring new pain to the patients.

Theory of moist wound healing

In the late 1950s, it was found that the wound environment played a vital role in the healing of the wound. In 1958, Odland1 first discovered that the wounds with intact blisters heal faster than blistered wounds. Since Dr. George Winter 2 demonstrated faster epithelialization in a small sample of experimental porcine wounds covered with an occlusive dressing, the principles of moist wound healing have evolved into a science.

Since that time, hundreds of varieties of “advanced” or “interactive” wound dressings have been developed, sophisticated dressings provide moist, isotonic, interactive and non‐toxic environments for healing, they will play the best role when they match the characteristics of the wound.

Anti-adhesion technology for advanced wound dressings produced by FORYOU MEDICAL

On the basis of the theory of moist healing, FORYOU MEDICAL has developed a series of Advanced wound dressings, such as medical foam dressing, medical alginate dressing, hydrogel dressing and so on, they can prevent bacteria, absorb exudates, and reduce the risk of impregnation.

In these serialized products, we attach more importance to products that can be gelation and products developed on the basis of silicone gel. Because apart from the routine function of advanced wound dressings, they have better functions in anti-adhesion.
Alginate dressings form gelatin through calcium sodium ion exchange, hydrophilic fibers form gels after water absorption, silicone gel has hydrophobicity, they effectively obstruct the invasion of foreign bodies such as bacteria and dust in the air, and absorb water from the wound surface to form "water vapor film". This layer of "film" acts as a barrier to effectively separate the wound from dressings to prevent fibroblasts from invading dressings, and to act as scaffolding, allowing the cells to migrate to where they should be properly grown.

Excellent anti-adhesion effect can not only relieve pain of patients during dressing change, but also maintain the moist environment needed for wound healing and promote wound healing. Therefore, FORYOU MEDICAL has attached great importance to the development of silicon gel as the contact layer of wound surface, and has formed a series of advanced wound dressings with silicon gel layer, such as silicone foam dressing, super absorbent dressing, post-operative Dressing, silicone wound contact dressing and silicone tape.

Vision of the technology development of FORYOU MEDICAL

How to alleviate the pain of patients is a major problem in clinical medicine, and is also a lifelong topic for doctors and nurses. FORYOU MEDICAL hopes to provide patients with safe, effective and full of humanistic care products, to help nursing staff and patients get better experience. Therefore, in the aspect of anti-adhesion technology, we will continue to study, and will bring better products in the future.

For you, for us, for life!
